I am a hands-on observer, cultural nomad, pessimistic realist, introverted networker and skeptical spiritual being. I am the eternal in-betweener and finding pride and courage in what that means for my place in the world. I approach all challenges (life/work/play) with an ethnographic mindset & design-doer attitude.
My approaches, opinions and choices are continuously shaped by my experiences. My experiences often take place in the in-between – culturally, in my growing-up, in my approaches, in my personal identity and in my education and professional experiences. I grew up in Germany, moved to America at age 19, gathering a BA in Communications & some work experience in the design world and finding love along the way. I explored places like India (first official encounter with Ethnography), Scotland (solidifying that approach through a Master in Design Ethnography) and Berlin, Germany (returning to the fatherland, experiencing being a german as an adult and owning my design ethnographer lens). I am currently a Design Strategist at Idea Couture in Toronto, Canada. I get to explore and experience life with my husband Jim and our two kids Isla and Eames.
I love collaborating on ideas, conversations, projects and everything in between, so please get in touch if you have any questions or thoughts!
