#Hothouse12 and #DE2012 done. Next up: LIFE in Berlin!!!

Dear beloved internet-friends. Please pardon my long absence…somehow the last couple of months of the Master’s of Design Ethnography program got completely swallowed up by the final research project – our Hothouse Summer. The final project got wrapped up by mid August and now it is almost October…How did this happen?

Well, a few things happened…In the past 2 months, we finished the Hothouse Summer project, I lived (and did research) in New York City, I got my first tattoo, completed my Master’s degree, my husband Jim and I took a trip to Mexico, celebrated 2 years of marriage, packed our lives up into a shipping container and moved across the ocean, back to the fatherland…where I have accepted a postion with a lovely company Point-Blank International in my birth city Berlin.

After a quick trip to Amsterdam to run my first workshop in my first official week at PBI, finding a flat in Berlin (no easy task), fighting our way through the jungle of German bureaucracy, starting from scratch in regards to home furnishings, which lead to countless bike trips to IKEA,  we are slowly settling in…and after being without internet for over two weeks now, we have been promised a connection to the world by the end of this week. We should have a couch within the week and our shipping container filled with all the things that make a home a home (think: books, pictures, art, personal memories etc…) should be arriving at a port in Europe within the next week or so too…

Once back on the grid, I hope to regain control of my online life, put together a short summary of what went down during the #Hothouse12 project and maybe some thoughts on what’s to come…

Aw, glad to hear you’re getting settled in in Berlin post-DE! :) Meanwhile, I’m just getting started on my journey … thanks again for all of your help / advice pre-Scotland, and hope to stay in touch!
